Khalilah's work is about spritual transformation.
Her current body of work has been ten years in development, and contains a variety of mixed-media paintings. She tends to paint in series and paints them simultaneously until the series is complete. Most of her paintings are inspired by verses from the Holy Quran and current events.
She started her first series in response to the horrific events of 911. As an African American Muslim Woman the attack was overwhelming and impacted her work tremendously.
She maintains a private studio at Artworks Trenton, and has a Master of Fine Art in Painting, from The University of The Arts (Philadelphia), as well as a B. A. in Art Education , from The College of New Jersey. Her work has been exhibited extensively throughout the Tri-State area, and has been purchased by many private collectors.
